VOLUNTEER WITH US
This is one of the simplest ways to help out our cause. We believe the best way for our initiatives to be successful is for the community to actively get involved. This is an easy and efficient way of contributing to the great work we do at Rebel Dog Rescue.
Volunteers are the backbone of our organization and there are multiple roles available to volunteers.

Adoption Lead - *WE ARE NOT TRAINING ADOPTION LEADS AT THIS TIME* In this role is your job to match dogs in need to their forever home. You will receive applications submitted for the dog you are an adoption lead for, review them, and proceed with the most suitable applicant. You will conduct an adoption interview with them and complete their reference checks. We typically run a transport every other month, and we ask that adoption leads take a minimum of 2-3 dogs per transport. Each adoption takes roughly 2 hours to process start to finish, which means it would be a ~4-6 hour commitment per month (you are welcome to be lead on as many dogs as you would like!). In this role you must be confident speaking on the phone, be somewhat tech savvy and have good organizational skills, and preferably have rescue dog experience. Training is provided to you for this role!

Events & Fundraising - RDR is not-for-profit and every penny that is donated or raised for out organization goes right back to dogs in need. We rely on our events and fundraising team to come up with fun and creative ways to fund RDR's initiatives and to support the costs associated with rescuing the dogs.

Local Transport - Occasionally we need volunteers to pick-up donations, drive dogs to foster homes off of transport, or take dogs to and from appointments in the Niagara region and GTA.

Dog Walker - From time to time we have a dog who is residing in boarding while we seek foster placement or a forever home, it is important that we continue to work with the dog, socialize the dog, and take the dog for outings or day dates! The boarding facility we currently work with is located in St. Catharines.
LEAVE A LEGACY GIFT

If animal rescue is close to your heart and you ever find yourself asking “how would I like to be remembered?”, legacy giving may be the answer.

What Is A Legacy Gift?
A legacy gift is a gift to a non-profit organization in your last will and testament. It can be a piece of property, cash, or a percentage of your estate. Legacy gifts play a key role in supporting charitable organizations, yet many people don’t know that they’re an option. As long as it's a gift that you've 'planned' in your will, it can be considered a planned gift or legacy gift! You can leave as much or as little as you want - there is no gift too small to make an impact on animals in need.

To learn more about legacy giving, we recommend consulting with professionals: It’s essential to consult with financial advisors, estate planning attorneys and tax professionals to ensure your legacy gift aligns with your overall estate plan and financial goals. Also, be sure you discuss your wishes with loved ones: Share your plans with your family and loved ones to ensure they understand your intentions and the impact of your gift.
